Loquat Tree Removed by 7946 Drain
The loquat tree by the drain at 7946 was risking root intrusion into the drain that was right next to it and had to be removed to prevent thousands of dollars of repairs and potential flooding.
The board does understand that we are community that has lots of mature vegetation and we want to continue that, but we have to be judicious about where trees are placed. Earlier this year we spent almost $10K to repair a foundation in 7932 due to root intrusion from a Eucalyptus tree that was placed too close to the building and was also causing root intrusion into a nearby drain. A typical repair for jetting and scoping a drain is approximate $2K.
There is another Loquat tree that is about 18″ tall near the garden shed that is not causing any issues and will be allowed to grow.
